GET INVOLVED

Getting involved in motorsport is as easy as raising your hand and saying “I want to do that “

First race I ever worked on was at the Dow's Lake Ice Races in Ottawa. Years later I had the privilege of being the Chief Pit Lane Fire Marshal at the Canadian Grand Prix. Being part of the race operations team is the most exciting job there is.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER

No race event can happen without the volunteers and officials. The Ottawa SportsCar Club has a strong cohort of officials from those just starting in motorsports to holders of the highest International (FIA) licenses. Our members volunteer at events at Calabogie, other tracks in Ontario, Quebec and the United States, including the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, and as far away as the Mexican Grand Prix, French Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Those wishing to volunteer for the Formula one Grand Prix du Canada should follow this link for further information https://www.acind.ca/to-volunteer

The club supplies most of the officials for the race events at Calabogie Motorsports Park. If you are interested, you can start by joining the Calabogie Challenge officials. These are low-key race events held in the evenings. Hands-on training is provided, so you can get the hang of it and take on as much responsibility as you wish. If you would like to know more, contact CMP’s Volunteer Coordinator Ted Rance at volunteers@OttawaSportsCarClub.ca.

If you wish to become a Race Official or volunteer work a Regional or National event. Please contact the Ottawa SportsCar Club for more details through our Contact page
